Moeslim Studies acknowledges the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI)–based tools in academic research and writing and recognises their potential to support scholars in improving the clarity and technical quality of their manuscripts. The journal allows the use of AI-assisted tools for language-related purposes, including enhancing sentence structure, improving grammatical accuracy, refining readability, and correcting typographical or stylistic errors. Authors may also use AI tools to assess linguistic consistency and ensure the manuscript meets academic writing standards, particularly when English is not the author’s first language. However, the use of AI is strictly limited to supportive and editorial functions. AI-generated content must not replace the author’s original intellectual contribution, argumentation, data interpretation, or scholarly analysis. The use of AI tools for drafting, substantially rewriting, or generating core sections of the manuscript is not permitted. In addition, authors may use AI technologies to enhance the quality of visual materials, such as improving image resolution, optimising graphical clarity, or supporting the presentation of figures and tables, provided that such use does not alter the authenticity or integrity of the underlying data. Authors remain fully responsible for the content, originality, and accuracy of their submissions and are expected to disclose the use of AI tools when relevant. The journal reserves the right to evaluate manuscripts for inappropriate reliance on AI-generated content in order to uphold academic integrity and ethical publishing standards.
